For the past few years, Davel De Klerk Kgatla Attorneys of Polokwane sponsor, organise and host an annual event, where all the proceeds are donated to a charity.
This year it was decided to benefit Hope for Children, a private organisation which runs three homes in Polokwane, where traumatised children are cared for in a homely environment.
The formal charity banquet was held at the award-winning 5 star Fushion Boutique Hotel in Polokwane and was attended by 180 persons.
Benno de Klerk, a director of Davel De Klerk Kgatla Attorneys, in a short speech quoted Ghandi, “Be the change you wish to see in the world”. He pointed out that each person only has limited days on earth in which one can make a difference and build a legacy to be left behind on which other people can build. He urged those attending to assist Hope for Children and help create a future for the children being housed there.
A classy three-course meal was served, after which well-known artist and television presenter, Coenie de Villiers entertained the guests with his professional and thoroughly entertaining performance.
After that, with most guests in a very good mood, a very successful charity auction was held with Dewald Jacobz as auctioneer. A number of items purchased, where summarily donated back to be auctioned, again and again.
Ultimately, the event raised R95 000 for Hope for Children.
Davel De Klerk Kgatla Attorneys would like to thank the main co-sponsors, namely the BB Auto Group of Companies, Seeff & Remax Properties in Polokwane, Shave Paint & Decor and Limpopo Mediators, as well as all other contributors, for their generous sponsorships, to make the event possible.
A special thanks to Sophia de Wet, professional assistant at Davel De Klerk Kgatla Attorneys, for all the initiative and hard work.
